A permanent mural paying tribute to Dave Myers has been created in Barrow.
The mural, which celebrates how important the Hairy Bikers star was to Barrow, is on the side of The Kings pub, on Dalton Road.
It was painted by Barrow-born artist Shawn Sharpe, who said he wanted to do something after being asked hundreds of times on social media to create a mural of Dave in the town.

His passing moved the people of Barrow so much that Dave Day was launched – a memorial event that saw tens of thousands of bikes flock to Barrow from London to pay their respects. It also saw over £127,000 raised for charity.
Amber Taverns, which manages several pubs in Cumbria and across the wider UK, decided to commission the mural after running a successful mural campaign in Preston with Shawn.
The company had been planning to create a mural on the side of The Kings for eight months before they decided a mural of Dave would be something the town would love.
Gary Roberts, operations director at Amber Taverns, said: “Following the success of Dave Day and the emotional impact that it had on everyone involved we discussed the idea of a Dave Mural.
“To pursue the work we first had to reach out to Dave’s family to get consent to undertake such a task. Shawn reached out and has committed to a mural with the full consent of Lilliana, Dave’s wife.

“It’s important that when you commission an artist to undertake a mural that you give them the autonomy to have complete control on the design and concept, that way you get the passion and integrity from the heart of the artists.”
Shawn worked on the mural daily from Tuesday November 19 until Friday November 22.
Gary added that the response from local people and Dave Day members has been incredibly positive and that Amber Taverns has identified a few more walls for Shawn to work his magic.
The date of the second Dave Day event has also been announced by Dave’s wife Lilliana Myers and his friend Jason Woodcock.
Dave Day will return to Barrow on Saturday June 21 and Sunday June 22 in 2025.
More information is set to be released soon, but attendees can expect a weekend full of entertainment and activities all in memory of the town’s Hairy Biker, organisers said.
