A severe heat warning issued by the Met Office has left people confused across Cumbria.
The weather forecaster, which is responsible for weather warnings in the UK, issued the warning via a third party aggregator last night.
Phone notifications said the warning would last until 11.59pm tonight and asked people to make preparations accordingly.
But with most temperatures recorded at a chilly 3C or less across the county today – there’s no need to panic and get out the sunblock.

A Met Office spokesperson said the warnings were the result of a testing error and were not intended to be seen by the public.
The spokesperson added: “During routine testing with a third-party warnings aggregator test warnings were erroneously published in the aggregator’s live system. This resulted in redistributors including Apple publishing the test warnings on their channels.

“The test warnings were promptly removed from the aggregator’s live system, resulting in the majority of redistributors also removing them from their channels.
“However, some are continuing to show the test warnings. We are working with the aggregator to contact those redistributors whose systems have not processed the cancellation.”
