A feisty sheep has been rescued after it got stuck on a ledge in the Lake District.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team were called out yesterday by a farmer in Borrowdale who asked if they could help rescue the animal, after it got stuck on a ledge on a rocky outcrop in the Langstrath Valley.
A small group team members attended and rigged a rope system to make their way down to the sheep.
While the animal had been trapped on the ledge for a week, and had eaten all available vegetation, rescuers said it still put up some feisty resistance.
Eventually, the Herdwick was harnessed, hauled to the top of the outcrop and released.
Team members said it then happily trotted off to greener pastures.
On Sunday, the team rescued a Border Collie who had become stuck on a fell.
