Milnthorpe’s Christmas tree was battered by Storm Darragh with the village’s centrepiece snapped in two during the rough weekend weather.
It looked as if the community may have seen the last of the tree this year until a replacement was donated by FW Herd & Son to the delight of villagers.
“A big thank you to FW Herd & Son – we appreciate your kindness!” Sylvia Davidson, from the village said.
She also thanked locals Graham Davidson and Helen Isabel, the Christmas tree committee and Ben Atkinson and Ryan Hodgson for their support.
The new tree is now up and illuminated.
