A man who died following a collision in West Cumbria has been named.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, attended but Mr Dakin man died at the scene.

The driver of the Volvo was taken to hospital but was discharged.

Mr Dakin’s family said: “Bob was a kind and generous man, well thought of by a great many people, and his shocking loss is a tragedy for all those who loved him or had the privilege of spending time in his company.

“Bob was a talented musician, skateboarder, skier and a keen traveller. His loss leaves an unimaginable hole in our lives that can never be filled.

“We would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for the members of the public who assisted at the roadside, the North West Ambulance Service and The North West Air Ambulance for their care and dedication.”
