Two Carlisle brothers have appeared in court after a man suffered a fractured jaw and bleed on the brain following an alleged attack earlier this week.

Jamie Robert Adrian Pitt, 32, and Tyler Michael George Pitt, 23, jointly face one charge.

It alleges that they unlawfully and maliciously caused a man grievous bodily harm, with intent to do so, at an address in the Carlisle area on Tuesday, March 4.

Jamie Pitt and Tyler Pitt spoke to confirm their names and dates of birth, and to both give their addresses as Beverley Rise in Carlisle.

Prosecutor Diane Jackson gave magistrates a brief outline of what she alleged had been a significant assault on the man. He had suffered a fractured jaw, a bleed on the brain and breaks to his fingers, she said.

Through his lawyer, Jamie Pitt indicated a plea of not guilty to the charge. No plea was entered on behalf of Tyler Pitt.

Both men were remanded in custody by magistrates, and are next due to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on April 9. No application for bail was made by their respective lawyers.
