Cumbria Health has appointed a new chair of its board of directors.
Ed Tallis will succeed Ian Johnson in the role from next month.
Mr Tallis brings over 30 years of experience in the health sector, including a career as a clinician, leadership roles in the NHS, and positions with GlaxoSmithKline and Macmillan Cancer Support.
Mr Tallis said: “I am very excited about joining Cumbria Health and supporting the organisation to continue to add great value to people and society, as a not for profit, social enterprise organisation.
“I hope to bring with me a good deal of experience, having worked in the health sector for over 30 years, initially as a clinician and then in a number of leadership roles in the NHS, GlaxoSmithKline and Macmillan Cancer Support.
“My passion is about integrating services and organisations to deliver even greater things for people, and I look forward, very much, to working with the team at Cumbria Health.”
The appointment comes as Cumbria Health continues its mission to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care while exploring new ways to enhance health and well-being across the region.
Susan Blakemore, chief executive of Cumbria Health, said: “We are pleased to welcome Ed Tallis to Cumbria Health as our new chair.
“With his extensive NHS experience in Cumbria and beyond, Ed will be a tremendous ambassador for our organisation.
“His leadership and vision will help us drive forward change and continue to develop services that make a real impact in our communities.
“I’m confident that with Ed’s guidance, we will reach new heights in our mission to improve health and well-being across the region.”
Cumbria Health thanked Mr Johnson for his outstanding contributions during his tenure as chair.
The organisation said: “Ian’s leadership has been instrumental in advancing the organisation’s goals, and his legacy will continue to inspire the team.”
