A masked burglar broke into a Penrith home in what police are describing as a high-value burglary.

The incident happened on Beacon Edge at around 8pm on Thursday, March 27.

A suspect, described as wearing dark clothing and a face covering, was disturbed by the occupier who was in the property.

Police are appealing to the local community for any witnesses or for anyone with any information to come forward.

Detective Superintended Vicki Coombes said: “Being a victim of burglary can have a massive impact and people have every right to feel safe in their own home.

“Given the time of the report, we would like to hear from anyone in the area who may have been out and about and seen anything suspicious.

“We would also anyone with relevant CCTV or Ring doorbell cameras to check their footage.

“I would encourage anyone to come forward if you know anything about this incident so that our team of detectives can investigate.”

Anyone with information relating to this incident can report online at www.cumbria.police.uk/report-it, quoting incident number 233 of 27 March 2025 or call 101.

Alternatively, contact Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
