A market for young entrepreneurs will be held in Carlisle this month.
The eighth Teenage Market will take place on Saturday April 12 in the city’s Lanes Shopping Centre.
Young traders will be selling products including homemade cakes, clay bead bracelets, hair accessories, 3D printed models and fidgets and jewellery designed for boys.
Open to anyone aged between eight and 25, the Teenage Market offers young people the opportunity to try a business idea and gain experience of making, selling and marketing their own products in a risk-free environment.
Shoppers will also be entertained with fantastic performances from young singers and musicians throughout the day.
It is a partnership between Cumberland Council and The Lanes Shopping Centre..
It’s not too late to get involved, if you are an artist, crafter, baker, singer, dancer or comedian. Create your performer profile on the Teenage Market website and apply to take part in the Spring Carlisle Teenage Market.
Susan Owens, Manager of The Lanes Shopping Centre added: “Through our Community at The Lanes programme we are keen to support as many local initiatives, charities and events as we can and as such we are thrilled to have been asked, once again, host the Teenage Market.
“The Lanes has been a major presence on the high street within Carlisle for 40 years and I am thrilled that we are able to support the next generation of retailers from both within the city and across the local area, through supporting the Spring Teenage Market.”
Established in 2012 in Stockport by brothers Joe and Tom Barratt, Teenage Markets are now held regularly throughout the country.
