Two people have been arrested after campaigners staged a protest at a South Cumbrian factory.
Cumbria police said they were called at around 2pm on Wednesday April 9, and were told a number of protesters had entered the James Cropper site in Burneside, near Kendal.
Officers attended and while there, were told by an employee that she had been assaulted by a protester.
A man aged 24 was arrested on suspicion of assault and resisting arrest. He was released and no further action will be taken, police said.
Oliver Mulachy, also 24, of Newlands Avenue, Lancaster, has been charged with obstructing/resisting a constable in the execution of their duty.
He has been bailed to attend Barrow Magistrates’ Court on May 1.
Cumbria police said: “While Cumbria police is committed to facilitating peaceful protest, this must be balanced with the rights of others, keeping the public safe, preventing crime and disorder, and seeking to minimise disruption.
“Any efforts to intimidate, harass, or commit assault will not be tolerated and will be treated and investigated as a criminal matter.”
The Palestine solidarity campaigners said around 35 of them gathered at the site to protest James Cropper’s production of materials for Israel’s F-35 fighter jets.
James Cropper has been contacted for comment.
