For the second week in a row West Cumbrian pigeon fanciers will race on Sunday.
Another bad weather forecast for Saturday resulted in the West Cumbria Amalgamation switching to Sunday for their race from Lymm, which is just under 100 miles.
Last week’s race from Charnock Richard was put back 24 hours and it proved a sound decision with a good fast race ensuing.
This is the third race of the new season and Lymm (Appleton) is regarded as one of the organisation’s best race-points.
Meanwhile the Amalgamation race on May 10 from Cannock will carry a special first prize.
The 80th anniversary of VE Day will be celebrated on May 8, marking the end of World War Two in Europe.
To mark this event, the May 10 Amalgamation race will have an £80 first prize with a commemorative medallion for the winner.
