Maryport’s Dan Bewley goes for a record equalling fourth national title in succession in the Attis Insurance Sports Division British Final at Belle Vue.

Bewley has won the past three finals on his home track and his rivals for the crown tonight, Monday May 12, include fellow Grand Prix regular Robert Lambert who is making a rare UK appearance.

With the Wild Card and track reserve positions available for the upcoming GPs in Manchester, competition is set to be fierce.

Alongside Bewley and Lambert, there are seven former champions with Chris Harris, Craig Cook, Adam Ellis, Danny King and Charles Wright all looking to challenge once again.

Among the emerging generation, former Aces rider Tom Brennan and his Ipswich team-mate Dan Thompson have both made strong starts to the season.

Bewley said: “I don’t really think too far ahead or who I’m up against to be honest. I try not to read the programme!

“There are 15 other guys to beat, not just Robert, everyone is very capable. I turn up and do what I can.”

DRAW: 1 Leon Flint, 2 Chris Harris, 3 Jason Edwards, 4 Tom Brennan, 5 Dan Thompson, 6 Craig Cook, 7 Vinnie Foord, 8 Connor Mountain, 9 Drew Kemp, 10 Robert Lambert, 11 Steve Worrall, 12 Adam Ellis, 13 Danny King, 14 Dan Bewley, 15 Anders Rowe, 16 Charles Wright.
