Debbie Ellwood

A West Cumbrian home care provider is entering a new chapter.

Bellcare, headquartered in Workington, has appointed Debbie Ellwood as quality and compliance manager.

Debbie joined the firm 25 years ago and became registered manager six years ago.

Bellcare has operated across north and West Cumbria for almost 30 years.

Debbie said: “I’ve loved my time as registered manager, but what truly makes me happy is engaging with our staff and service users. Helping to solve problems before they escalate and seeing our daily positive impact brings me the greatest joy.

“I can’t wait to get back into a role which allows me to engage directly with service users in their homes and our team to enhance the vital services that Bellcare offers.”

In her new position, Debbie will focus on supporting Bellcare in consistently meeting compliance and quality standards.

Carol and Ian Wilson, Bellcare’s directors, said: “We have had the privilege of Debbie as our registered manager for the last six years, knowing full well that she missed the daily one-to-one contact with our service users and employees.

“Debbie stepped up to the role with exceptional commitment and skill. Now, as she transitions to quality and compliance manager, she brings that same passion and experience to a new capacity that aligns with her love for community engagement.”
