A father and son who took a wrong turn while out in the Lake District had to call mountain rescue for help.
The pair had missed the warning sign pointing them to the normal path on Barfs yesterday, Sunday May 25.
Instead they went up the Barf side of Beckstones Gill and climbed the ever steepening and increasingly loose and tricky ground above to below Slape Crag.
Keswick Mountain Rescue Team said: “Not wanting to risk the awkward climb up this with their two dogs and certainly not wanting to descend the way they had come up they called 999 and asked for mountain rescue help.
“The team gave the men helmets and harnesses in case they needed roped security then walked/bum slid the very grateful pair off down past the Bishop.”
