Workington Comets have been handed a seven-day suspension by the speedway’s governing body.
Directors of BSP Speedway said they had become aware of administrative issues that must be resolved before the West Cumbrian side can compete again.
Workington Comets have been given the seven-day pause so they can overcome the issues.
Rob Godfrey, BSP chairman, said: “We are happy with the progress being made by the club in sorting these issues and I anticipate that there will be a speedy resumption of racing at Workington.”
Workington Speedway said: “We wish to reassure our supporters that we are working closely with the BSPL and SCB to resolve these matters swiftly and effectively.
“The club has made positive progress already, and we are confident that all outstanding issues will be addressed within the seven-day suspension period.
“While we are naturally disappointed that this pause in racing affects our scheduled fixtures at Berwick on June 28, Oxford on July 2, and Redcar on July 4, we fully understand the decision taken and appreciate the guidance provided by BSP chairman Rob Godfrey.”
