A brother and sister duo had to be rescued after they got stuck on a Lake District mountain.

Keswick Mountain Rescue team were called by Cumbria Police out on Tuesday, July 1, at 2.33pm to Sharp Edge, on Blencathra, after the pair got stuck on the ridge walk and became unable to get down the mountain.

The team sent a small group of rescuers to help the pair and were assisted by seven team members from RAF mountain rescue team Lossiemouth, who were training in the Keswick area.

A safety line was rigged across the ridge and three team members helped the brother and sister to safety.

The duo were then walked to their car in Scales.

The incident involved 19 rescuers and lasted three hours and 47 minutes.
