Monday saw a return to Redmain where 36 hounds turned out for the three trails.

The seniors got things underway with a field of nine in which Silver Dream for Darren and Julie McMaster and Anthony Skelton was sent off as the favourite.

As the hounds were seen going down Millstone Moor finish three had opened up a lead with Silver Dream, Malfunction for Sarah White and Croft Lass for Stanley, Carole and Sarah Jackson, Ricky Deacon and Donald Hodgson heading the race.

The hounds can then be seen going past the trail field after roughly 12 minutes running and the same three were taking turns for the lead and began to pull away even more. The chasing pack was being led by Busy Again for Alan Blacklock and Carole Harrison.

When reports came in from the final road crossing at Bridekirk, it was Silver Dream who was still leading the way and going well from Malfunction and Croft Lass.

As they showed onto the finish Silver Dream had the advantage over Malfunction with a small gap to Croft Lass. Then when they jumped the final fence, Silver Dream showed another good turn of foot and won nicely from Croft Lass and Malfunction.

There was a small gap to the chasing pack which was led by Busy Again who came on to get fourth place from Dream Catcher for Cathy, Joy and Brian Lister. The final ticket went to Minnie Million, also for Joy, Brian and Cathy.

The puppy trail had an entry of 11 lining up at the slip, with Maggie for Les and Graham Reid, Erin Rowlandson, Barbara Jones and Steven Walker sent off as the favourite at even money.

In this junior trail the pups can be seen passing the trail field after roughly eight minutes running and Tucker for Nicola McMaster and Anthony Skelton was leading the way from Maggie and Busy Rascal for Alan Blacklock and Carole Harrison.

When reports came in from the final road crossing Tucker was still leading the way from Busy Rascal and Maggie with a small gap to litter mates Affirmation for Laura Steele, Andrew Bullman and Gary Woodend and Silver Star for Darren and Julie McMaster and Sadie Wilson and Pied Piper for Tanya Sattherwaite.

As they jumped the final fence Tucker came away nicely to claim the win from Busy Rascal and Maggie. There was a small gap to Pied Piper in fourth who finished well from Silver Star while the final ticket went to Zoya for Stephen Irving and Caroline Graham.

The final trail of the evening was the open maidens with a larger field of 14 taking part. Meadow Lane for Paul and Joanne Airey and Ruby for Stephen Riley and Isla Hetherington were sent off as joint favourites.

When the hounds passed the trail field it was kennel mates Meadow Lane and Meadow Maggie for Paul and Joanne who were leading nicely from Thorn Heart for Colin Sattherthwaite.

News from the final road crossing was that Meadow Lane was leading the race from Discover for Anna and Kerry Lindsay with We Get By for Sarah White in third and then Thorn Heart.

After jumping the final fence Meadow Lane came on well to claim the win from We Get By with Discover in third and Thorn Heart fourth. Lucky Moon for Geoff Higgins finished in fifth and the final ticket went to Meadow Maggie.

Racing resumes tonight at Cold Fell for a four race card – Seniors, Pups, Open Maidens, Open Restricted. Seniors slip at 6pm.
