
Cleator Moor Celtic secretary Herbert Briggs has been reflecting on a special award from the West Lancashire League.
He received the Secretary of the Year trophy at the League’s presentation event last month.
“I was really proud to be chosen for this particular award and to hear it was an unanimous decision by the committee also made it a bit special,” he says.
Herbert received a magnificent Shield as winner and also a special memento trophy which he can keep.
There was another presentation, too, as Celtic had won the President’s Cup with a penalty shoot-out victory in May.
Hero on the day was 16-year-old goalkeeper Logan Carson (nephew of Premier League keeper Scott Carson) with three penalty saves.
