
The weather forecast for Saturday has caused a rethink for West Cumbrian pigeon fanciers.
With rain expected all day the proposed race from Flookburgh has been rescheduled.
Officials will now be looking at a Sunday race, although no definite decision has been made until a further scrutiny of the weather.
Only Derwent Valley members contested the opening young bird race from Flookburgh on Saturday, with the West Cumberland Federation opting to miss out.
In fact it did not prove a good opener for the young’uns with some lofts suffering more than others.
The new Midweek Members Club plans to race from Flookburgh on the next two Wednesdays.
