UPDATE: Wednesday September 3, 7.15am – one lane is closed due to emergency barrier repairs.
The northbound M6 just south of the Cumbrian border is closed after a collision near Lancaster earlier this morning involving a HGV.
Drivers are still facing long delays on the M6 after a lorry overturned in the early hours of today.
The M6 northbound is closed from J34 A683 Bay Gateway (Lancaster) to J35 A6070 (Carnforth).
The incident happened at around 2.35am and long delays are due to emergency repairs and fuel spillage.
It has had a knock-on effect as there is congestion to the A683 back to Morecambe.
Traffic is queuing to join the A6 which is heavily congested through Slyne, Bolton-le-Sands and Carnforth.
