An urgent road closure is in place for Whitehaven town centre.
A section of Roper Street, from its junction with Queen Street for around 10m to the south east, has been closed so United Utilities can carry out urgent repair work.
The road closed yesterday and it is expected the work will take five days.
A diversion is in place.
