Work is set to begin next week to help stabilise a Lake District road support damaged by Storm Desmond.
Contractors, on behalf of Cumberland Council, will carry out slope repair work along the B5289 near Ashness Bridge, Keswick.
The authority said the slope was damaged during the major storm in 2015.
It added: “These repairs will help ensure that this popular and picturesque route around Derwentwater remains safe and resilient for years to come.”
The project will be delivered by Metcalfes Plant Hire.
The work will consist of holes at the bottom of the slope being filled using a combination of stone from the shoreline and imported material.
It said the method will help prevent further erosion and strengthen the embankment beneath the road.
The work will take place in two stages.
Stage one will begin on Monday, November 24, for three weeks. Two-way temporary traffic lights will be erected and the road will remain open.
Stage two will start on Monday, January 26, for two weeks. The road will be closed overnight from 7pm to 7am.
