Police are investigating after reports that a woman had been acting suspiciously near children in Workington.
Officers were called at around 4.20pm yesterday, Thursday March 19, with a report that the woman had been in the area of Newlands Lane playing field and was approaching youngsters.
Police attended but were unable to find the woman, who was described as being in her 30s or 40s, white and wearing a baseball cap and a tracksuit.
She was said to have walked off in the direction of the town centre.
