With 20 minutes to go Amy Carr equalised for Abbeytown again from distance leaving an exciting last 20 minutes of cup action.

With penalties looming both sides had chances but it was the Abbeytown defender who grabbed herself a brace in the last kick of the game to win the team in red and white the match.

After a scrappy moment in the Xtreme box, she was in the right place at the right time to finish it following a saved strike by young Niamh Edmondson.

Jackson Slack, the Abbeytown Ladies coach, said: “It was great to see the ladies get over the line after a challenging few weeks, losing games to mistakes and moments but today we bounced back.

“Summer league is all about developing the players ready for winter but it’s always nice when you get a win!

“Taking postive training sessions into games is key and we done that this week.
“Full credit to the ladies for a battling performance and Brian and Xtreme Fitness for a brilliant match!”
