A person had to be cut out of their vehicle by firefighters after a collision in West Cumbrian woods.
Bootle Fire Station said its crew, plus crews from Whitehaven and Millom were called to Shoemire Wood, near Waberthwaite, yesterday, Friday July 10, at around 3.25pm.
An air ambulance was also called to the incident.
Bootle Fire Station said: “On arrival, Bootle firefighters met with the first responder already on scene who gave a brief handover of the casualty’s injuries.
“Crews started to assess the casualty and make the scene safe when shortly afterwards, the air ambulance arrived.
“The onboard doctor made the call for us to remove the side of the car for them to better access the casualty for extrication.
“This was done with use of our cutting equipment. The casualty was extricated and transported to the air ambulance and left in the hands of the onboard crew.”
During the incident, Millom’s crew was called away to reports of a building fire and Whitehaven to another collision.
