A Lake District venue has been named among the best 100 local restaurants in the UK.
The Yan at Broadrayne, near Grasmere, has been recognised in the prestigious list from the Good Food Guide.
It is the only Cumbrian venue to make the list. It was ranked as number 41.
Restaurants on the list are nominated by the public before being independently and anonymously assessed by Good Food Guide editors and inspectors.
Operations director Georgina Keighley-King said: ““Everything we do at The Yan is very much a team and family effort, and our team in Grasmere are pretty amazing!
“It’s their hard work, dedication, exceptional customer service, and attention to even the smallest detail that sees The Yan make this special list for the fourth consecutive year. And to again be the only restaurant flying the flag for Cumbria is always a privilege.
“The Good Food Guide’s 100 Best Local Restaurants represents everything that matters most to us at The Yan.
“It’s about providing people with a warm welcome in a laid-back environment where they can enjoy delicious, local, seasonal food, and create lasting memories.
“We love what we do, and we love sharing our special little corner of the Lakes with our wonderful guests and diners.”
Now in their 16th year, the Best Local Restaurant awards celebrate the community driven restaurants that offer brilliant value for money and top-quality cooking in a relaxed, convivial setting.
Head of reviews & listings at the Good Food Guide Chloë Hamilton said of this year’s list: “In the face of adversity, creativity has flourished in unusual and unlikely places.
“It has been hugely rewarding to see how these tiny operations are offering outstanding quality in a way that so clearly strikes a chord with the local crowd. Arrive with an open mind and a good appetite and you’ll be brilliantly rewarded.”
