
Rescuers were called out to help an elderly man after he fell on a beach in Whitehaven.
Whitehaven Coastguard Rescue Team were called out this morning to the man, who had fallen at North Shore in the town.
The team and two full time officers were swiftly on scene. Casualty carers assessed and treated his minor injuries and helped him off the beach, before he was released.
Shortly after the team helped the man, they were tasked to Harrington to reports of a small boat, which had been found upturned on the shore.
A hasty search of the area and investigations confirmed there was no concern for safety, and the team were stood down.
