Cumbria Tourism – the official destination marketing organisation for the county’s £2.72 billion tourism industry – has confirmed the appointment of its new Managing Director.
Tom Newbould, who will take the helm this July, is an experienced marketing professional and has wide-ranging experience of leadership, management and delivery in a variety of public and private sector posts at Director and Board level.
Tom’s recent career has been in senior roles in the consumer finance sector. His other previous roles include Director of Marketing and Communications at not-for-profit education and training group, NCG and European Digital Marketing Director for Attends Healthcare Group, as well as positions at the BBC and PwC.
He also has an extensive track-record in marketing and digital communications, public affairs and stakeholder engagement, having dealt with Ministers and senior politicians at the highest levels of government.
Tom, who has lived with his family in the Eden Valley in Cumbria for a number of years, is a governor at Asby Endowed School, Great Asby. He will take charge at a time of significant change for Cumbria Tourism, as it focuses on the delivery of destination marketing and support services for the Cumbrian visitor economy.

Tom will officially take over as Managing Director on Monday 3 July 2017.
