Team H&H ready to tackle the Gelt Gladiator Challenge

[T]his month saw a team of 22 from the H&H Group PLC ‘get muddy in Hadrian’s Wall country’ when they took on the Gelt Gladiator challenge, in Brampton near Carlisle, raising an outstanding total of £2000 in aid of YoungMinds and Macmillan Cancer Support.

The team, which was made up of staff members from across the H&H Group of companies, showed real grit and determination to complete the demanding 10k course, over challenging terrain, tackling more than 30 obstacles to raise funds for the group’s dedicated charities for 2017.

Mark Barrow, Chartered Surveyor at H&H Land and Property, took part in the challenge and commented afterwards:  “’Gelt Gladiator was a great opportunity to push ourselves, have some fun and raise money for two worthwhile charities.  It was amazing to see the team unity from colleagues across the H&H Group and individuals overcoming their fears.”

Taking part in the Gelt Gladiator challenge for team H&H was Mark Barrow, Christie Byrne, Amy Robinson, Sarah Wright, Carol Rickerby, Abbie McCubbin, Jenna Nixon, Steve Neile, John Noone, Phil Gowling, Cameron Johnston, Liam Jenkins, Julia Heath, Tim Sedgewick, Jessica Flood, Paul Philipson, Lucy Hill, Cathy McCleary, Rachel Orr, Kally Shane, Julie Whitaker and Karen Philipson.

The H&H Group plc is running a number of initiatives during 2017 in support of its two main chosen charities: YoungMinds and Macmillan Cancer Support.  A total target of £10,000 has been set and will hopefully be achieved through staff participation in a number of scheduled events throughout the year.

Brian Richardson, Chief Executive of the H&H Group, said:  “It’s wonderful to see staff members from across H&H coming together as a team to take part in this event and at the same time raise money for our chosen charities this year; it really highlights the community environment in which H&H operates.  The icing on the cake is the fact the team raised such an incredible amount of money for our two dedicated charities, for which they can all be very proud.

Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the challenge and the event was a great motivational team event and we are looking at repeating this again next year.”

The H&H Group operates as a holding company with its eight successful operating companies encompassing Livestock and Machinery Auctioneers; Brokers and Valuers; Estate Agents; Auction Rooms; Commercial Printers; Chartered Surveyors; and Insurance Brokers.
