[A]ctors Julia Watson and Eliza Hunt, who play Thatcher and the Queen in Theatre by the Lake’s production of Handbagged, were snapped out and about as they filmed the upcoming trailer for the show.

Their shoot included rowing on Derwentwater, a picnic at Castlerigg Stone Circle, and circumnavigating the challenging peaks of Crow Park…

Handbagged imagines the weekly conversations between Margaret Thatcher and the Queen, and speculates what really happened behind closed palace doors when two of the most powerful women in the world clashed. The show is going down a storm with critics and audiences who are praising the actors’ uncanny presentations of these two iconic figures.

Written by Moira Buffini, Handbagged was first seen at the Tricycle Theatre in London and subsequently transferred to the West End. Funny, insightful and brilliantly sharp, the play was nominated for an Olivier Award for Best New Comedy in 2015.

To book tickets for Handbagged or to find out more visit www.theatrebythelake.com or call the Box Office on 017687 74411. At Theatre by the Lake until 3 November. Tickets from £10.
