[R]esidents in Appleby are invited to a special Health and Wellbeing Day on Thursday 13 July, where they can find out more about how to stay fit and well and remain as independent for as long as possible.
The drop-in event will take place at the Public Hall, Boroughgate, Appleby (CA16 6XB) between 10am and 2pm. This event was previously advertised as taking place at the Moot Hall.
There are a number of organisations who will be on hand to provide information and advice to residents about what support is available for them in their local community. They include: Age UK, Eden Carers, Eden Independent Living, Alzheimer’s Society, Appleby GP Surgery, Dementia Friends, Give A Day and many others.
The event is being organised by Cumbria County Council, Cumbria Partnership Foundation Trust and a number of partner organisations. Together they want to improve the way that residents access information about healthier lifestyles locally and help people stay well, keep as independent as possible and able to manage health conditions with a reduction of the reliance on hospital care.
Integrated Care Community Manager, Angie Reynolds said: “This event for residents follows on from the ‘listening event’ which was held earlier this year where a number of local organisations came together to discuss the emerging health and wellbeing needs of the community in Appleby.
“We’re keen that as many people as possible come along to the event, join us for a cup of tea and learn more about the range of support and services which they can access to help keep them fit and well and improve their day to day lives.”
