[T]he family owned Holker Group of companies based in South Cumbria, has announced the appointment of a new Chief Executive Officer.
Allen Gibb, previously Group Finance Director at the Holker Group, took up his new role on 4th July.
Mr Gibb joined the Holker Group in 2011 and has already established an impressive track record of achievements, together with an extensive knowledge of the varied Group businesses.
Prior to joining the Holker Group, Mr Gibb spent ten years with Compass Group as Finance Director in the Sports and Leisure Division, managing contracts across the UK in major sporting, arena and cultural venues. With a background in finance as a Chartered Management Accountant, Mr Gibb has wide ranging experience in leadership, management and delivery across multiple sectors including retail, manufacturing and business development.
The appointment follows a rigorous and competitive recruitment process. Announcing the appointment, Lucy Cavendish, Chairman of the Holker Group commented “Over the last five years Allen has developed and led the strongest finance team the business has ever known. On these firm foundations he is perfectly positioned to lead the continued growth of the Group. Allen’s commitment reflects my confidence in the exciting future of our business in the years ahead. Following the appointment, Mr Gibb said “I’m truly honoured to have been asked by Lucy Cavendish to assume the role of Chief Executive Officer having spent five years as Group Finance Director. The role comes with great responsibility and expectation and I relish the opportunity of working closely with Lucy in taking the Holker Group forward as a major contributor to the business, tourism and social economies of the South Lakes.
