[T]he Mayoress of Workington, Nicola Bales is currently swimming the width of the English Channel in Workington’s Leisure Centre.
Nicola was keen to help raise funds for the Mayor of Workington’s, Cllr Ann Bales (her mum), charities and thought this would be a great challenge.
Nicola will swim 21 miles (1,344 lengths) across 3 days (Wed 2, Thur 3 and Fri 4 August) from 10am-4pm in the swimming pool at Workington’s Leisure Centre.
People can sponsor Nicola by dropping donations off to Workington Town Council at the Town Hall or the Leisure Centre, both in Workington. Go Nicola!
Nicola is raising money for the Mayor of Workington’s Charities – Cystic Fibrosis Trust and Team Isla.
