[L]ake District based self-catering agency Heart of the Lakes continues to support one of the county’s most prestigious sporting events in the annual calendar – the ‘Heart of the Lakes Rydal Round’ at Ambleside Sports.

The company is proud to have sponsored the challenging 9-mile fell race that takes in the iconic Fairfield Horseshoe for the past 21 years. Heart of the Lakes took over the sponsorship from Reebok in the early 1990’s and now contributes £500 per year in prize money.

Chris Jackson Partner of Heart of the Lakes says; “Heart of the Lakes is proud to have such a strong involvement in the local community and we continue to support many organisations and events on an annual basis. We have been sponsoring the famous ‘Heart of the Lakes Rydal Round Fell Race’ since the early 1990’s and each year we continue to be amazed by the dedication and hard work each and every runner gives to the race. We would like to congratulate all who took part in the demanding but equally rewarding challenge event.”

The “The Heart of the Lakes” Rydal Round was the first race of the day at Ambleside Sports on Thursday 27 July. The nine mile race around one of Lakeland’s best known walks known as the Fairfield Horseshoe attracted over 100 runners.
