Boy, 15, hurt in Dumfries attack

[P]olice officers in Dumfries are seeking witnesses to an assault which took place at around 9:15pm on Saturday 5 August 2017 on the roadway between Kingholm Quay and Dumfries near to the Skate park.

At that time a 15-year-old youth was walking back towards Dumfries with a group of friends when he was spoken to by the occupants of a silver car. The driver of the car was a woman and a man was front seat passenger.

Without warning the man allegedly leaned out the car window and punched the victim to the face. The victim ran off however required treatment at Dumfries and Galloway Royal Infirmary for his injuries.

Constable Nancy Dickson at Dumfries said: “This appears to be an unprovoked assault on a 15-year-old boy and has resulted in the victim requiring hospital treatment for his injuries. I would ask that anyone who witnessed the assault or knows the identity of the occupants of the vehicle to contact Police on the 101 number.”
