[T]he Cumbrian office of award-winning housebuilder, Story Homes, has committed to supporting six charities and community groups which applied for funding in the first quarter of its ‘Future Story’ scheme.
This is a company-wide scheme designed to support sponsorship or donation requests from charities and community organisations that surround Story Homes’ developments in Cumbria, south Scotland, the North East and the North West.
The housebuilder accepts applications via its website all year round, with a regional committee reviewing submissions on a quarterly basis.
All Saints CE Primary School, Carlisle Key, Cockermouth School, Harraby Catholic Youth Football, MS Society and Parkinson’s UK Masquerade Ball in Carlisle and Calthwaite Nursery have all been selected by Story Homes to receive a financial contribution.
Projects that the developer will support this quarter include the contribution towards a new adventure playground, renovation of properties to provide safe accommodation for young people, new sports equipment and provision of a new fire retardant tarpaulin.
Ian Storey, Managing Director for Story Homes in Cumbria and Scotland, commented: “The homes we build are part of wider communities, so helping charities and groups that neighbour our developments is extremely important to us. We try to support in ways that add long term value, and we are proud of our track record in this regard and our role in building sustainable communities.
“We are delighted to be able to help these six deserving organisations. We look forward to seeing how their projects progress, and to supporting even more charities and community groups during the rest of the year.”
Story Homes is now inviting charities and community groups to apply for support in the next quarter. Applications for sponsorship, donations or raffle prizes should be made by completing the form at storyhomes.co.uk/sustainable-story.
