[T]he Big Quiz returns to Kirkoswald this year for a special fundraising event in aid of The Children’s Society and the village hall.

Wade Tidbury, who lives in Kirkoswald and works as a Safeguarding Lead at The Children’s Society, will be quiz master for the night, firing an array of brain-busting general knowledge questions over a range subjects from 7pm on Friday 1 September in Kirkoswald Village Hall.

Tickets are £8 per person and include a pie and pea supper and there will be a bar at the venue.  Money raised from the night will go towards the upkeep of village hall and also The Children’s Society which supports the most vulnerable children across the country suffering abuse, hardship and neglect.

Wade said: “I have really enjoyed putting the questions together for this quiz. There are going to be some interesting rounds and I think there will be something for everyone. I am pleased to be able to be involved in something that is raising money for two causes that mean a lot to me.

“My own local village hall where a lot of parties and fun has been had over the years and The Children’s Society a charity I work for who do a lot of vital work with children to break the cycle of multiple disadvantage.”

Lindsay Little, Chair of the Village Hall Committee, added: “The committee run fundraising events throughout the year to help toward the upkeep of the hall. We are very much looking forward to working with Wade at the Big Quiz Night, raising money for the village hall and the Children’s Society.”

Laura Balcombe, Supporter Engagement Officer, said: “We’re delighted that Wade has decided to hold a quiz night to raise vital funds for The Children’s Society. We work to help children and young people who have nowhere left to turn, so with the support of inspiring people like Wade, we’re able to continue our life-changing work.”

The Big Quiz is on Friday 1 September in Kirkoswald Village Hall. 7pm arrival for a 7.30 start, teams of up to six people. Cash Prize for the winning team and spot prizes.

Tickets in advance should be booked at Kirkoswald Village Store or by calling Julie on 01768 898326 or Angela on 01768 898562.
