[W]ork is due to begin on the final two phases to replace gas mains under the A592, beside Lake Windermere.
Cadent are moving their gas pipes to assist United Utilities in its larger project to install a new wastewater pipe.
Cadent was given the window between 8 May and 31 October to complete our work, which we are doing in four phases.

A spokesman for Cadent said: “I’m pleased to say that we are on track and making good progress.
“The final two sections (phases 3 and 4) are both due to start on Monday.
“Phase 3 is at Ferry Nab and phase 4 is on a stretch of the A592 just south of Storrs Hotel.
“We will work hard to ensure access is available to all homes and businesses, at all times.
“Our work is in one lane of the two-lane carriageway, so we are controlling traffic flow with temporary traffic lights. We monitor traffic all the time and to date, the waiting times have rarely been higher than 45 seconds.
“We’ve worked hard to accommodate events (stopping work to assist a marathon and a cycle race earlier in the summer, for example) and to keep traffic flowing while we carry out the work.
“We’ve gone door-to-door to explain the works and residents / businesses can also contact our customer team on 0161 703 1000 / 1010.”
Cadent (formerly National Grid Gas Distribution) is the UK’s biggest gas distribution network. We maintain and repair 131,000km of pipes across our networks, to keep energy flowing to 11m homes and businesses.
