A West Cumbrian care home resident celebrated her 90th birthday with a jive.
Sylvia Crane, who lives at Newlands Care Centre in Workington, was joined by her family, including her husband, and friends for the occasion.
Live entertainment by Anthony from Take Two, filled the home with music and encouraged everyone to sing along.
The home said: “A highlight of the afternoon came when Sylvia took to the dance floor for a jive. Having loved jiving in her younger years, she delighted everyone by showing she still had the moves, prompting cheers and applause from family, residents and staff alike.”
Kim Whelan, general manager at Newlands Care Centre, said: “Celebrating special birthdays is one of the greatest joys of life in our home, and Sylvia’s 90th was no exception.
“Seeing her reunited with her husband and daughter, watching her enjoy the music, and then seeing her take to the dance floor to jive brought smiles to everyone’s faces. Sylvia is such a kind and humble lady, and it was wonderful to see her feel so loved and appreciated on her special day.”
