Appeal after attempted burglary in Workington

[O]fficers are investigating an incident where an offender has attempted to gain entry to a home in Westfield Drive, Workington, during daylight hours.

The incident happened at around 1.45pm yesterday (2 Oct, 2017).

A man, tried to open a side door to the property but found it to be locked.

The woman inside the property, thinking it was her husband returning home, has opened the door.

The offender has seemingly panicked and pushed the woman, who is in her 40s, before fleeing the scene.

He is described as white, of a skinny/slim build and was wearing a black hooded top.

Officers would like to hear from anyone who saw a man matching this description in the area at the time. Or anyone else with information which could assist.
