[C]umbrian plant and construction equipment supplier, Taylor and Braithwaite, recently held a hugely successful birthday charity ball, which raised over £34,000, for Cancer Research UK.

The spectacular evening, organised by CBA Events, was held at the Low Wood Resort Hotel and Spa on the 6th of October. The black and gold themed ball was attended by 224 friends, customers and suppliers from both the UK and Europe. The grand event celebrated fifty years of achievement for Taylor and Braithwaite whilst raising awareness and donations for a truly worthwhile cause.

Guests included Taylor and Braithwaite’s current Directors, Paul Taylor and Ian Burton, as well as Founding Directors, Harold Taylor and Trevor Braithwaite. The action-packed evening treated guests to a champagne reception followed by a delicious three-course gala dinner with thrilling entertainment, and comprised of a disco, magician, charity auction and even singing waiters. The auction raised a whopping £34,015.66 for Cancer Research UK with guests bidding for exciting prizes such as weekends away, exhilarating experiences and scrumptious food gifts.

Director Ian Burton was thrilled with the evening’s success, stating: “We wanted to recognise this milestone and take the opportunity to celebrate with the individuals and companies who have supported us so far.  Raising over £34,000 is an amazing achievement and just demonstrates how generous everyone has been.”

Sarah Mattison, Cancer Research UK’s local fundraising manager for Cumbria, was overjoyed with the support the charity received, stating: “Cancer survival in the UK has doubled since the early 1970s and Cancer Research UK’s work has been at the heart of that progress. However, we have only been able to achieve this thanks to the dedication and generosity of volunteers and supporters like the staff at Taylor and Braithwaite without whom we would not be able to fund outstanding scientists, doctors and nurses.”

Taylor and Braithwaite have fifty years experience in supplying, servicing and maintaining construction, recycling and quarrying equipment from world renowned suppliers available throughout the North of England and Scotland. Sold by dedicated product specialists and backed up by a fully-trained team of engineers to carry out all service and repair work on-site or in their fully-equipped workshop.
