[P]enrith based transport branding company Ast Signs is set to sponsor the town’s unique Winter Droving on the 28th October – providing much needed funding and support to the town’s annual event.

Ast Signs Ltd has been named as the main sponsor of the Winter Droving, an eccentric Cumbrian celebration of masks, magic and mayhem which features over 20,000 people lining the town’s streets enjoying street entertainment, live music, local food and a masked torchlight parade.

As well as being the main sponsors of the event, Ast Signs will also be entering a team into the Winter Droving’s famous Kyloes Drovers Cup under the pseudonym The Mouse & Squeegee, where they will be attempting to defend their current title in traditional events such as hay bale racing, pint passing, egg throwing, tug-o-war, and Cumberland sausage eating.

Adrian Lochhead, Director of Eden Arts – Winter Droving organisers, said: “Ast Signs is a dynamic and innovative Cumbrian business whose approach matches our own… The support received from Ast makes a real difference to the scale and quality of the event and enables us to programme exciting international artists and performers and promote the event beyond our region.”

Mark Aston,  Managing Director at Ast Signs, said: “We’re proud to be able to sponsor the Winter Droving, it’s a fantastic event that brings a huge number of people into the town and something we’re always keen to play a part in and help out the event wherever we can… I wish our Ast Signs team the best of luck in defending our Drover’s Cup title.”

Specialising in commercial signage and transport fleet branding it offers a nationwide service and since it was founded in 2003, has amassed a range of longstanding national household name clients, including Eddie Stobart, Greggs, HSS Hire, Müller Wiseman and Speedy.
