[A] RANGE of festivities is on offer at Whitehaven Market this Christmas with a series of events being held as a treat for traders and visitors alike.

Copeland Borough Council, which runs markets in Whitehaven, Cleator Moor and Egremont, is offering traders the chance to bag a stall over the festive period for a discounted rate of £12 per day if they sign up for four or more dates.

The Council is inviting stallholders and shop owners to set out their stocking fillers at markets held each Thursday and Saturday in December, beginning on December 2.

Visitors will be able to indulge in a mince pie from one of the many stalls, while browsing the festive fancies on offer with Father Christmas making his way to town on Saturday, December 16.

For traders who may wish to commit to three dates or fewer, the price will be £18 per day.

The number of regular stallholders has doubled since the market relaunch in 2016 and income for the council has increased by over 35 per cent.
