[T]wo local charities are set to benefit from funds raised at Eden District Council Chairman’s Carol Service taking place at St Andrew’s Church in Penrith from 6.30pm on Monday 11 December 2017.

Members of the public are welcome to attend the service where a choir and soloist from Ullswater Community College will be performing, alongside a choir from Armathwaite School and the Penrith Town Band.

Eden District Council’s Chairman, Mary Robinson, said: “I would like to invite members of the public to come along and join us at the Carol Service at St Andrew’s Church in Penrith on 11 December, to celebrate the festive season and to help raise money for two very worthwhile causes Hospice at Home and the Great North Air Ambulance.

“I am delighted that along all with local school choirs and Penrith Town Band, the High Sheriff of Cumbria, Alistair Wannop and Cumbria’s Police and Crime Commissioner, Peter McCall will also be participating in the service giving a reading and an address respectively. I would also like to thank Councillor John Thompson for his help organising this service.”

Refreshments are available after the Service in the Church, these have kindly been donated by Greggs and Cranstons. Local community radio station Eden FM will also be recording the service to use as part of their Christmas programming.

All proceeds from the Carol service will be donated to the Chairman’s chosen charities Hospice at Home and the Great North Air Ambulance.
