[S]undays win against Bury Women was extra special for influential Penrith AFC Ladies captain Kim McCormick. The match saw her join a very exclusive club of players to reach the 200 appearance landmark.

Kim joined Penrith in 2006 from junior girls football with Carlisle City Girls. She has amassed the 200 appearances over the 11 years since then. The achievement is all the more special as Kim has twice comebome back from career threatening knee injuries / surgery. A born leader she became team captain in 2011 and its no coincidence that the club has enjoyed its most fruitful period under her guidance.

Manager Simon said “I’m so pleased for Kim. She is a real inspiration for the other players and a true role model for the younger players and junior girls at the club. She has helped instill a level of professionalism at Penrith which is the envy of other clubs.

Kim spoke about her achievements. “I’m so pleased I moved to Penrith AFC Ladies when I was 16. From my very first appearance to today 200th appearance I have felt privileged to be part of such an amazing team. I wont lie, there has been many ups and downs on the way but I wouldn’t change it for the world. My desire, commitment, determination and passion has never changed but only grown”.
