
[H]&H Land and Property, Chartered Surveyors, has announced that Ms Emma Smith has successfully completed her APC (Assessment of Professional Competence) qualifications and become a qualified Chartered Surveyor and a RICS Registered Valuer.
The APC is a period of structured practical training and professional development that ends with the Final Assessment and ensures that candidates joining Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors are competent to practise as a Chartered Surveyor. The designation of Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) is an internationally recognised and respected mark of professional excellence and integrity, and being able to use the MRICS label after your name is a mark of skill, knowledge and commitment.
Emma, who achieved a 2:1 BSc (Hons) in Rural Enterprise and Land Management at Harper Adams University in 2016, completed a placement year with H&H Land and Property and returned to the firm after graduating. She grew up on the family beef and arable farm on the North Yorkshire, County Durham border before moving to Cumbria to pursue her career.
Her role at H&H Land and Property includes valuations, landlord and tenant work including the preparation of tenancy agreements and licences, compensation claims on behalf of land owners and occupiers, and property sales and acquisitions. She is also experienced in digital mapping and using GIS to create plans and to record boundaries. Emma works out of the Carlisle office of H&H Land and Property. Commenting on her qualification, she said: “This is the next step in the development of my career and I am very pleased to be going forward as part of the H&H Land and Property team.”
