[F]IVE men, including a pensioner, have admitted roles in a major criminal supply plot following the police seizure of cocaine worth £210,000.
The huge class A substance haul is said to have been located at an address in Carlisle’s Derwent Street on November 18.
As a result of that find, detectives from Cumbria Constabulary’s serious and organised crime unit rounded up five men.
They were Alan Hudson Williams, 69, previously of Derwent Street; Matthew Maurice Payne, 44, of Stanhope Road; Jason Peter Hill, 20, Hawick Street, all Carlisle; along with Scott Sutherland, 25, of Shawk Crescent, Thursby; and Matthew Thomas Scott, 24, of Lingyclose Road, Dalston.
All appeared at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today (WED), when they admitted conspiracy to supply cocaine between May 1 and November 21. Williams and Payne also pleaded guilty to possessing the class A drug with intent to supply.
All five men were remanded in custody by Judge Peter Hughes QC, and are due to be punished in late February.
Judge Hughes stated: “The sentences are all inevitably custody.”
