[C]arlisle’s top wedding businesses will be showcasing their services at a wedding fair hosted by Carlisle’s Crown & Mitre Hotel this month.

Wedding specialists ranging from hairdressers and stationers to dress suppliers and limousine drivers will be gathering at the hotel on January 28th to offer inspiration to couples planning their big day.

The Crown & Mitre conference and events manager Rebecca Lynch hopes that the wedding fair will also be a chance for people to take a fresh look at the hotel which has spent close to a £1 million on refurbishments in recent years.

A redecorated ballroom, upgraded bedrooms and a second bridal suite complete with four post bed have helped attract more couples looking for a wedding venue with healthy bookings for both 2018 and 2019.

“We’ll have the Greenmarket room where we hold ceremonies and part of the ballroom dressed up for a wedding so anyone coming to the fair will get a good idea of the splendour they can expect with a Crown & Mitre wedding.

“We’ll have models showing off some amazing dresses and with limos and wedding cars at the front of the hotel it should be quite a day,” Miss Lynch said, adding: “We’ll make it extra special for the first 50 brides attending by giving them a free goodie bag to take home.”

Hairdresser Zoe Pearson, who runs Zoe’s Hair Salon on English Street, Carlisle, is looking forward to taking part in the wedding fair.

“I really enjoy helping with weddings, going to the bride’s home on the big day and being there for her. Wedding fairs are great for brides as they all come to get ideas and can see all the options in one afternoon – it’s a great way to get inspiration,” she said.

Other companies taking part in the wedding fair will include: So Sweet Trees; Carlisle Balloons; Northern Love Letters; Simply Koko; Oopsie Daisy Flowers; Dumfries Limos; Sprinkles and Sparkles and Maddison Entertainment.
