The Lakes Distillery Toasts Triple success in the 2018 Global Distillery Masters

[O]n the cusp of a superb 2017, The Lakes Distillery enter 2018 with a host of accolades at the 2018 Global Distillery Masters.

The Lakes Distillery are thrilled to announce medals in three categories; Best Distillery Facilities -Master, Consumer Experience -Gold and Digital and Social Media.

For the third consecutive year, the distillery won the Master Award for the distillery facilities, the penultimate award. This honour is given to distilleries for their innovative offering of tours, food and beverage offering, attractions and added value services. Judges noted new tours including the Alpacas, bespoke masterclasses, the events held in the private dining room and, of course, the breath-taking location.

In the Consumer Experience category, the distillery won gold. This category is awarded to distillery’s for creating an “above and beyond” distillery experience for guests throughout their visit, including the tour and the tasting experience.

In the Digital and Social Media category, the distillery was praised for their engaging content on social media, Ecommerce and a robust, creative representation online.

The Global Distillery Masters awards the world’s finest distilleries across the entire spirit’s sector. The awards are chaired by The Spirits Business and are judged by a panel of industry specialists. The awards are designed to recognise the growing importance of tourism, creativity and technical merit in the industry.

Paul Currie, Founder of The Lakes Distillery said “It is a great achievement to win a Masters Award once in the Global Distillery Masters, this continuous recognition for our consistent innovation and improvements within our customer experience is a testament to our efforts. Now we are being recognised for other disciplines within the business and the team are working tirelessly to ensure we are offering and enhancing the best visitor experience possible.”

The Lakes Distillery, based in the heart of the Lake District in a UNESCO World Heritage Site grew from strength to strength in 2017. The distillery became the fastest funded spirit distillery on Crowdcube Limited raising £1.75m and the distillery sold out of their 2,975 exclusive Founders Club memberships.

The Lakes Distillery’s spirits won multiple awards in 2017; including The Lakes Salted Caramel Vodka Liqueur winning a Master award in the Liqueur Masters and The Lakes Gin Explorer Edition won Silver in The Grocer Drinks Awards.

The Lakes Distillery has created several world firsts including The ONE in 2013, the only British Isles Blended Whisky, soon to be followed in Spring 2018 with the release of Steel Bonnets, a blend of the finest English and Scotch single malt whiskies.
