[L]ocal butchers Cranstons raised an amazing £4243 this festive season for Hospice at Home Carlisle and North Lakeland through a Christmas pudding charitable donation and two Christmas Shopping evenings, beating Christmas 2016’s total.

Cranstons have been fundraising for Hospice at Home over Christmas for several years and this is the highest total raised to date.

We hosted Christmas shopping evenings at Orton Grange and our Cumbrian Food Hall raising £3,266 and our stall at the Brampton Light’s Switch on raised £285! 50p from every sale of our Christmas Puddings was donated to Hospice at Home, totalling £440.50.

Adding donations from shop collection tins in November & December, the total rose to an incredible £4243.55!

Managing Director Philip Cranston said, “We are always overwhelmed by the generosity of our customers and suppliers when it comes to raising funds for the hospice. The evenings in particular are always well-attended and have a great atmosphere. The hospice provides vital support to our community and we are honoured to be able to contribute to this.”

Julie Blundell, Fundraiser for Hospice at Home said: “We would like to give sincere thanks to our friends and Business Partners Cranstons for their great support of hospice care in the home.

“The charity is extremely grateful for their continuous annual commitment which has taken place over many, many years.  This generosity has included helping the Charity raise awareness and funds within their Shops and Food Halls to kindly donating products, organising events and raising great funds when gaining sponsorship funds for a variety of challenges.

“This kindness and commitment is very much appreciated and will be of great help, especially as patient referrals continue to increase in our 20th Anniversary Year. This tremendous contribution will enable the Clinical team to continue to provide free end of life care, bringing local patients and their families comfort during difficult times.”
